What is polyurea<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The material polyurea<\/strong> impresses with its properties of flexibility, wear resistance, water and weather resistance, as well as very good chemical resistance. The two-component polyurea system<\/strong> generally reacts very quickly. Coating with polyurea is always carried out mechanically using 2K mixing systems. The pot life is in the range of seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polyurea<\/strong> is used as a weather-resistant protective layer for swimming pools, renovation of large roof surfaces, as wear protection in gravel works and many other areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At ACCENTFORM, we utilize the advantages of this material for the efficient coating of large-format figures and objects. We usually mill large-format objects from EPS (STYROPOR). However, these objects would not be weather-resistant, cannot be painted and have poor compressive strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Application<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A layer of approx. 2-3 mm is usually applied to the objects by coating them with a polyurea hotcoat<\/strong>. This layer thickness is sufficient to give the objects an impact-resistant surface. The two-component polyurea system is heated to 80\u00b0 in a machine beforehand and applied to the objects at a high discharge rate<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the very fast reaction, the material hardens in fractions of a second. Due to the rapid curing, the heated material hardly has time to spread evenly over the surface of the object because the curing starts immediately. This generally results in a visible spray structure<\/strong> with a polyurea<\/strong> hot coat<\/strong>. Immediately after applying the polyurea layer<\/strong>, a primer is often applied to the objects to ensure a good adhesive bond for subsequent surface coating. Because a polyurea<\/strong> coating usually offers a high level of wear protection, it would be very laborious to smooth the structured surface by grinding. The orange peel-like spray structure gives natural objects, such as animals and plants, an authentic surface. If a paint finish with a matt gloss level is used at the end, everything has been done correctly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
