One of our specialties is the production of sophisticated globes in various diameters. The surfaces can be printed realistically like a satellite image or simply stylized.<\/p>\n\n

First, a raw sphere with the desired diameter is manufactured from two hemispheres glued together using the GRP hand lay-up process. The surface of the ball body is then filled and sanded to prepare it for wrapping\/gluing.<\/p>\n\n

The particular challenge<\/strong> in foiling\/gluing a sphere is to divide a 2D image into several elliptical segments in a complex conversion process, which enables the foil plot to be applied to the curves of the sphere.<\/p>\n\n

\"Example<\/a><\/figure>\n\n

24 segments are glued onto a sphere with a diameter of 0.77m. The globe with a diameter of 1.91 m already has 32 segments.<\/p>\n\n

Depending on customer requirements, some globes are then coated with a transparent matt varnish to prevent any reflections on the surface of the globe. The globe can now be projected onto using projectors.<\/p>\n\n
