On behalf of GERSTLAUER Amusement Rides GmbH, we produced a gigantic, six-meter-high kebab skewer made of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP).

First, the negative mold of a kebab skewer half was made from polystyrene using our 5-axis milling machines milled.

After applying a separating layer of polyurea and a release varnish, the mold could be hand laminate process lined with GRP. Two such huge GRP half-shells were produced, surface-treated and then assembled to form an oversized skewer. A steel construction supplied by the customer ensured a stable hold.

Afterwards, the graffiti artist BeNeR1 gave the giant skewer a realistic and “tasty” kebab look. After sealing the painted surface, the kebab skewer was ready for delivery to Karls Erlebnis-Dorf, where it will be part of the spectacular “Flying Döner” ride ride.

A kebab has probably never been so much fun to shoot 😉
