Wooden substructure for the model bracing

When creating large-format models or tools, the greatest challenge is to achieve an optimum surface quality. Small objects are usually made from PU block materials, i.e. from semi-finished products. Objects that are larger than 1 m² and have a three-dimensional geometry (e.g. spherical shape) quickly reach their physical and financial limits. The costs for the model making block materials, as well as the raw part weight, increase enormously. In addition, considerable effort is required to glue the model boards together and then mill off the excess material.

Pasting offers a highly efficient solution for large-format models and shapes. First, a stable wooden structure is made onto which large-format polystyrene blocks are glued. The desired component geometry is then milled to an undersize of approx. 10 mm using special STYROPOR milling tools. This is followed by the actual pasting.

Loading the models

A powerful 2 K mixing system mixes the material homogeneously without air bubbles and applies it to the object in a thixotropic state. The RenPaste™ 4666 or RenPaste™ 4503-1 paste we use makes it possible to apply not only horizontal surfaces but also vertical or overhead surfaces without joints.

The paste is odorless and cures emission-free within 24 hours at room temperature. The hardened material is easy to machine, the chip formation is excellent and almost dust-free. The milling waste does not require monitoring and can be disposed of as household waste.

ACCENTFORM coats and processes object dimensions of up to 10,000 x 4,500 x 2,000 in a single clamping operation.

Wage indexing

Creating seamless surfaces on large-format objects requires routine and continuous capacity utilization to ensure cost-effectiveness. If there is a discontinuous requirement for the paste-up of large-format models and molds, ACCENTFORM offers the option of contract paste-up. The customer can take advantage of the service at our premises in Nienstädt, or have our experienced team carry out an in-house fumigation. In-house packaging is often used for objects that require increased confidentiality (automotive, etc.).

This service is geared to the short-term and flexible scheduling requirements of our customers. A lead time of approx. 1 week is desirable, the max. Distance should not exceed 300 km from our premises.
