ROUND THING FOR DEUTSCHE OPER BERLIN

Spherical forms exert a fascination of their own on human perception. Without beginning or end, seemingly perfectly rounded and completely infinite, spheres find their way into an intuitive, aesthetic understanding in numerous ways. Marbles, balls, globes and many other forms reflect this. On behalf of MCI Werkstätte, we produced an assortment of 13 balls for a performance at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.

We fitted the balls for the Deutsche Oper Berlin with a suspension system and primed them so that the final coloring could be carried out by the opera’s stage artists. A major advantage in addition to the low weight: maximum fire protection on stage.

ACCENTFORM has the largest range of GRP molds for large-sized balls. Economical ball sizes in GRP designs start from a diameter of 800 mm and end at approx. 30 m for structural reasons. One-piece spheres are available up to a diameter of 2,500 mm (2.5 m). In addition, the spherical objects are usually segmented for logistical reasons. ACCENTFORM manufactures all ball sizes offered from high-quality, CNC-milled production molds. These spheres can be further customized according to customer requirements: Suspension points, flanges, cut-outs, fire protection, different surface finishes or technical functions can be ideally implemented in fiber composite structures.
