Science meets design: chrome-plated exhibition tables as a creative interface
For the Arburg Evolution exhibition, we were commissioned by FP interior GmbH to produce the mirrored spherical shells for exhibition tables. Six spheres with a diameter of 500 mm were laminated, each with a cut-out. The ø 1.6m hemisphere was also made by hand. Both ball formats were equipped with media technology by the client after the chrome coating. The main focus was therefore on the mirroring, which was carried out by Sturm Exclusive GmbH & Co KG for this project.
Trade visitors can experience the history of the Arburg company interactively in the “Evolution” exhibition on around 770m2 of exhibition space. A wide range of exhibits and interactive touchscreen monitors provide answers to questions about the company, its products and innovations. On display are injection molding machines, historical milestones and product examples, supplemented by an exhibit wall with around 600 plastic parts, videos and so-called theme and vision spheres. Interested parties can use it to obtain comprehensive information at various levels on topics such as injection molding processes, automation, company development, brand, trade fairs and contemporary history, as well as to venture a look into the future.
