Giant replica of a water bottle

An oversized replica of a Saskia water bottle was produced by the company Liganova commissioned from us. With a size of over 1 meter, a transparent implementation with epoxy resin is technically hardly feasible and also extremely uneconomical. We therefore chose an alternative approach to create a realistic-looking gigantic water bottle.
First, a positive model of the 3.5 meter long bottle was milled, consisting of a base and one half of the bottle. Negative molds were created on the basis of this model, which were then hand laminating process with glass fiber. Two halves of the bottle were joined together precisely and, to make the surface appear as if it had been “cast from a single mold”, laminated over again, sanded and primed in white.
The realistic surface design was achieved in two ways:
- The transparent look of a giant transparent bottle of sparkling mineral water was impressively designed by our partner, the experienced graffiti artist BeNeR1was realized.
- The Saskia label was faithfully printed on film and professionally applied to the bottle.
The giant water bottle is now a real eye-catcher and does credit to Lidl’s own brand Saskia – especially for visitors to the Alianz Arena in Munich.
