Gigantic nail for Hornbach

This nail goes on tour as a gigantic promotional object for Hornbach

A new HORNBACH store was opened in Halle in November 2017. For an advertising campaign for this occasion, we were commissioned to produce a 14-meter-long nail as a gigantic promotional object.

We used the largest nail from the HORNBACH range as a model, whose dimensions and shape we adopted at a scale of approx. 1:140.

The 14 m long nail was milled from hard foam and then laminated with approx. 4 mm GRP. The laminate structure was leveled by repeated sanding and filling. Finally, the object was given a realistic surface using metallic paint.

We made three robust brackets in the matching Hornbach orange color to ensure that the giant nail is securely fastened to the truck bed. The entire truck was decorated and colored in HORNBACH style according to the customer’s wishes.

The giant nail on the eye-catching truck traveled around Halle and the surrounding area for three weeks as a promotional object and drew attention to the new opening.
